Introduction

Yeast is a one type of fungus. Yeast is generally found in areas like mouth and vagina where moisture and wetness is present. Yeast Infection is an infection which is caused by fungus like yeast always within vagina. Yeast Infection occurs most frequently in pregnant, diabetic or obese women. In most of the women, about 20% of yeast infection is in.

What are the symptoms of Yeast Infection?

Itching on the vaginal area is the most common symptom of yeast infection. Other symptoms like burning, redness of the vaginal tissues, irritation, and pain during intercourse and/or urination are also commonly seen. One more symptom is vaginal discharge, if it is withiest, thick like cottage cheese then consults your doctor immediately.

Why yeast Infection occurs?

Some reasons of occurrence of yeast Infection are below.

  1. Some special conditions in women like pregnancy, continuous use of antibiotic and birth-control pills cause yeast infection.
  2. Wearing tight inner and outer garments also can cause yeast infection.
  3. If some injury occurs in inner vagina then there is a chance of yeast infection.
  4.  If immunity power is reduced in a women then the chances of yeast infection is more then the women with normal immunity.
  5. If you are using perfumed vaginal spray then stop using that because it also increases yeast infection in women.

What treatment one should have to take in Yeast Infection?

There are many antifungal medicines available in the market. These antifungal medications are either applied in or out of the vagina or you can take by mouth. In severe condition you have to take both types of medicines. Oral medication has some side effects like headache, nausea and abdominal pain. For pregnant women only vaginal treatment is preferably.

How to prevent by Yeast Infection?

Some precautions which can help you avoid yeast infection are as follows:

  1. Fungus develops in moisture. So keep the vaginal part dry. 
  2. If you are using tampons then stop the use of tampons during the treatment. Synthetic fibers produce heat and moisture. So don’t wear synthetic underwear and pantyhose. Only wear cotton underwear and pantyhose. For this same reason don’t wear tight clothes.
  3. During treatment avoid sexual intercourse. If you are suffering frequently by yeast infection then get your sex partner checked by doctor.
  4. Don’t stop the medication prescribed by the doctor. Complete the prescribed course religiously. An incomplete course is invitation to infection.
  5. Avoid using of public toilet. Toilet ring may spread bacteria, which can affect the vaginal area.
  6. Avoid the use of douche during the treatment. It causes more problems because douche disturbs the acidity of vaginal secretions.
  7. Clean vaginal part with mild soap and water once in a day. Also use wipes to clean vaginal part after bowel movement. Clean from front to back your vagina with some medicated wipes.

Curing yeast infection yourself

Now, there is no need to go to doctor’s clinic for someone who infected with yeast infection repeatedly. FDA has given permission to two ingredients like   Monistat and Gyne-Lotrimin which are generally prescribed as antifungal drugs for nonprescription use. So, now they are available over the counter.
Women who are suffering from infection first time and who have no idea of the ailment should consult the doctor for confirmation. Pregnant women and women who have suffered four times from yeast infection within a year they should take medicine as per doctor’s prescription.

It’s wise to pay immediate attention to the symptoms of yeast infection. If detected earlier, some natural cures and prevention can cure it. As every doctor of the world would say, Prevention is always better then cures.
